If a scout only attends one class, he will only receive credit for those requirements covered in the session attended and designated as complete. All questions concerning uncompleted requirements will be referred solely to unit leaders. There are no make up opportunities, prior arrangements, or other areas of exception.
The scouts must arrive PROMPTLY at 6:45pm. This allows only enough time to sign in and fill out the blue cards. Arrivals after 6:55pm will not be admitted into the class.
Each scout should come to class with the merit badge book, a pen or pencil, and paper. Food and drinks ARE NOT ALLOWED in the Scout Hut or the Underground under any circumstances.
A scoutmaster or responsible adult is expected to sign in and to remain for the duration of the class with EACH troop. Many times we need additional adult help in the classes.
All blue cards will be forwarded to the unit leader when the badge is complete or (in the event of a partial completion) upon request of the unit leader. Most of the teachers will go above and beyond the call of duty to help the boys complete the badge. Unit leaders must remind the boys that it is the SCOUTS responsibility to make arrangements for additional help. Unit leaders, please expedite this for your boys rather than the parents.
Please be mindful that we are guests of Trinity Presbyterian Church, Troop 212 and 304. Please make sure your boys are respectful of other activities going on at the church on Thursday nights. The teacher will conclude the session with remaining time sufficient to tidy, policy, and return the Scout Hut or Underground to the condition they found it. This is the scouting way and the doors will not open for dismissal until the Good Turn is complete.
I hope everyone will enjoy the classes we have scheduled this year. I am ready to start scheduling next year’s classes. If you or anyone in your troop has a special interest or expertise in any area, and would be willing to teach a class, please contact info@supertroop197.com. HAVE A GREAT YEAR INSCOUTING!!!!!
